Not many phones have been able to muster the same amount of hype and intrigue that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 seems to have so effortlessly created without even an official announcement.
Ever since the first Galaxy Z Flip arrived in January of last year tech forums and social media sites have been rife with rumours as to when the successor of the innovative handset will hit our shelves and what burgeoning capabilities will come along with it.
In this blog we’re going to uncover what you can expect from the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and most importantly when you might be able to get your hands on the coveted model.
There has been no confirmation into the full specs that we can expect from the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as of yet. However there have been murmurings amongst the tech community that the new iteration will have a much larger battery capacity this time.
Also it appears that Samsung is adopting the ‘bigger is better’ approach in the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s screen as well. According to leaks posted on Twitter by multiple users the latest model will have a larger outer screen as well as an ungraded hinge to accommodate the new screen’s weight. These claims seem to have been corroborated by the leaked Galaxy Z Flip 3 images that surfaced last year which showed that the notification screen to be significantly bigger than that of the current 1.1 inch display.
The most recent leak reports that we can also get excited about an Under Display Camera, whereby the front-facing camera will sit underneath special low-reflective glass with high transmittance. This will enable the screen to display imagery unhindered, but at the same time it won’t block light reaching the camera when it is in use.
There were also reports of the introduction of the Snapdragon 888 processor, which is rumoured to power all flagship Android phones in 2021, it will also be available with 128GB and 256GB storage versions.
What was believed to be some leaked marketing material appeared to provide us with our first comprehensive look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3’s design. The images showed a brand new two-tone colourway.
Each option appeared to have a black upper that housed the secondary screen and a vertical dual camera system, the rest of the handset is then a different colour. Various leaks have speculated that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be available in up to eight different colours including, white, purple, pink, beige, blue, black, grey and pink.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3’s exterior is expected to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and also have an reinforced armour frame for long life, this combined with the fact it will likely be equipped with splash protection support means the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be one of the most durable models Samsung has ever released.
There’s been many contradicting reports as to when the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will arrive. Samsung tends to release a follow up model to any smartphone just over a year following the original’s launch and by that logic we should have already had the Galaxy Z Flip 3 for more than six months.
However a recent leak has suggested that both the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 are coming out in less than a month’s time during July. And a further leak from SamMobile would seem to back this date up, reporting that both new foldable models will be available to purchase in the second half of 2021.
In terms of price we can predict it will probably come in at around the £1,000 mark rising to potentially £1250 depending on which storage option you choose upon purchase.
While much of the rumours circulating the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 are yet to be confirmed, the reports provide plenty of reasons to be excited for the latest iteration set to be released later this year.
