As we know Apple are the giant in the Smartphone world, but What if you wanted something a little different, though? We’ve got you covered with our rundown of the best iPhone 14 alternatives for 2023. The three newest iPhone prices range from between £849-£1449, which for many people falls way outside the budget of what they are willing to spend on a mobile phone.
We’ve taken the best alternative smartphones looking ahead to 2023 and compared the specs, price and features to the iPhone 14 Pro, one of the most popular iPhones from 2022
Price Starting from £1,099
Setting the standard the iPhone 14 Pro is the best iPhone currently on the market. Apple have finally invented the notch. It’s a clever way of retiring the TrueDepth module notch, introduced with iPhone X, while retaining most of the technology that’s made Face ID, selfies, and front-facing AR operations so effective. A combination of hardware and software, the Dynamic Island floats a few millimeters away from the top edge, is touch-sensitive, and is remarkably fungible. Finally, bring the iPhone 14 Pro series into alignment with Android competitors.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is the top Android phone to date and a great alternative to an iPhone for 2023, with it featuring a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen. Other useful features include a 5000mAh battery, up to 256GB storage and 5G connectivity. The display was one of my favorite qualities of the Pixel 6 Pro, and the Pixel 7 Pro is no different. With vivid colors, sharp text, and great viewing angles, this is a screen.
The Google Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with a 50MP main camera with an f/1.85 aperture and laser detect autofocus. The main camera is joined by a 12MP ultrawide camera with nearly a 126-degree field-of-view, plus a 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and up to 30x with Google’s Super Res Zoom. You also get a 10.8 MP selfie camera on the front.

Samsung is clearly looking to outgun Apple with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, while still maintaining a lead over Google, OnePlus, and other Android contenders. The phone has more features, more cameras, and more software to put to use than many competing phones. This definitely gives the device some advantages despite the familiar form factor.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts a larger 2.4um pixel sensor for capturing more light and data, as well as a Super Clear Glass lens for capturing nighttime videos without flares. You also get a 12MP ultrawide lens, plus dual 10MP telephoto cameras that combine to offer 10x optical zoom and 100x space zoom. For more comparisons.

OnePlus has left no stone unturned to give it a power-packed spec sheet. The key tenets of OnePlus hardware are all here with a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a healthy amount of RAM, and most importantly, blazing-fast charging speeds.
The camera module has an enormous Hasselblad logo emblazoned along the edge. The cryptic-sounding “P2D 50T” inscription in the LED flash is equally jarring. Standing for “Phone, 2nd generation Hasselblad camera, and 50MP triple-lens set up,” the nomenclature is completely meaningless and detracts from the visual appeal of the OnePlus 10 Pro.

These days smartphone design is all about the rear. From the instantly recognisable iPhone lens setup to the standout camera strip of the Pixel 7 and bright paint jobs from the likes of Redmi and Xiaomi, the success of a handset’s design rests almost entirely on what you see when you flip it around. By this metric, the Find X5 Pro is, simply put, gorgeous.
Specs-wise, it’s toting a main 50MP f/1.7 camera, 50MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and 13MP f/2.4 telephoto camera. In well-lit conditions, shots taken with the main and ultrawide cameras are superb. Bright, and detailed, with balanced lighting to capture shadows and highlights, they deliver shots you’ll feel proud to share.
