loveit? shareit!

loveit coverit, with the help of Atomik Research, surveyed 2,000 people to help us understand how our relationship with smartphones has changed. This included looking at how much time individuals spend on their mobiles, and how technology has invaded our most private and intimate spaces, such as the bathroom and the bedroom.

Through this independent research we discovered that a lot of people would consider themselves to be ‘heavy’ phones users, showing the importance of smartphones in our daily lives. We also found out that a fair amount of respondents were taking their smartphone to the toilet with them. While not unusual behaviour, this goes some way to demonstrating how we’ve become attached to technology, and how we’re happy to take it into our private spaces. Furthermore, we discovered that a significant number of young people (25-35 year olds) have been distracted by their smartphones during sexual intercourse  – whether that be for social media, emails, and even dating apps! This demonstrates the way in which our smartphones are invading our relationships and personal lives – something that loveit coverit is keen to highlight the positives and negatives of.
