‘Tis the season to set new goals, and today we’re taking a look at how you can use your mobile phone to help achieve them.
If one of your New Year Resolutions is to save some cash, you can use your phone to help you. Firstly, download your online banking app. Here, you can see every transaction you make, which means you can easily see areas in which you can save, whether that is the food weekly food shop, takeaways or sales shopping! There are a number of comparison apps that you can use in order to find the cheapest deals when it comes to groceries and other bills and expenses. You’ll also be able to set up an online savings account on your banking app, allowing you to transfer money over in a matter of seconds. Physically seeing the total increase every month, should give you the motivation you need to keep going.
Avoiding or reducing artificial, in particular, blue light, as well as social media has been shown to result in less sleep disruption and even mental health issues like anxiety. So whether it’s putting your phone to bed an hour before you go to sleep or a full-on digital detox, your health and well-being will ultimately benefit from less screen time.
This will obviously depend on your own specific goals, however there are a number of apps that can help you keep track of how much water you’re drinking, monitor your food consumption and provide free workout routines. Check out our post on the best apps to help you on your fitness journey.
Whether your goals are to get up early, read more, be more productive, go to bed earlier, succeed at work, there’s an app to help you. ThinkUp is a tool that provides positive thinking and affirmations, where Forest is a tool to help you stay off social media and remain focused on the task in hand. Another tip is to follow people or tags that inspire you on social media, or perhaps read motivational blogs.
If you’re an avid list-maker, you can use Google Keep, which allows you to make notes and lists. You can even compile images and voice messages to use as reminders. It may be worth taking the time to go through your photos and delete any you don’t need, in order to free up storage. You could even organise your apps to be more user friendly, putting them into specific folders.
