Xiaomi are dominating their homeland and are better known as ‘China’s Apple’. They rank No.3 in the Most Innovative Companies 2014 by Fast Company, having reinvented the smartphones business model in the world’s largest mobile market, in such a short period of time too.
Xiaomi is expected to sell 80 to 100 million smartphones this year, up from 61.1 million last year. Their main mobile phone product line is called the Xiaomi Mi series. The newest model is the Xiaomi Mi4 with its stainless steel frame, soft edges, and five inch IPS full HD display, making it a sleeker finish from the Mi3. Its HD display is flooded with colour coming from a high contrast ratio and 1920×1080 resolution, made with extra tough Corning Concore Glass. The Mi4 costs around £215.00 could give Apple a run for its money.
One of their other devices is the Redmi Note 4G which is a decent Phablet, with a large good quality 5.5 inch HD display. The device runs on a 3100mAH lithium polymer battery giving it a longer stand-by battery life. It is packed with features such as a gyroscope, compass accelerometer and proximity sensor costing a miniscule price of around £110.00.
Xiaomi makes smartphones across China, Taiwan, Singapore and other South East Asian countries. They are focused on fast international growth, including Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico. With such ambitions and determination, they will hit the European market very soon without a doubt. Could you be swayed?
